The annual Bali Arts Festival provides an
opportunity for the artists and people to develop, explore, preserve,
and accommodate various talents through such activities as parades,
performances, contests, exhibition, and discussions.
The Central theme of this year’s Bali Arts Festival, starting from
June 17, 2006 until July 15, 2006 which is the 28th round, is called
Swabhawaning Idep. |

New visa policy update on 1st
August 2005
Sources said that the new visa policy will be effective on August
1st, 2005. Indonesia will charge foreigners US$25 for a 30-day nonrenewable
visa or US$10 for a 7 day visit upon arrival. |

Nyepi Day (Icaka New Year 1928)

The Balinese Hindus 'celebrate' the coming of the new year of saka
calendar in silence, which is called Nyepi Day. The Icaka year numbering
system is 78 years behind the Gregorian year. The Icaka calendar
came from India.
Nyepi Day is the culmination of several days that follow this
